With Paul Ryan taking over as Speaker of the House, he has vowed that things would ultimately change. While President Obama is in office, there will be no legislation brought to the floor regarding immigration. Ryan promised the House Freedom Caucus of this decision and placed the blame on Obama. "This president tied to write the law himself," Ryan told the CNN program "State of the Union", accusing Obama of exceeding his constitutional powers. "Presidents don't write laws. Congress writes laws."Therefore, leading Ryan to believe that Obama can not be trusted placing an unwillingness to work with Obama and his administration regarding immigration reform. What does this mean? This means that until at least the beginning of 2017 when Obama's term ends there will be no relief to the continuous growing issue of immigration. Although Ryan put his foot down on comprehensive reform, he did says other issues regarding consensus on immigration policy may be addressed. Ryan wishes to start fresh and focus on issues that can unify the Republican party. "I was elected Speaker of the House to unify the Republican Congress, not to dis-unify the Republican Congress. That means my job is to lead us to consensus and to, on big controversial issues, operate on that consensus."

Obama makes reform "Impossible"
With Paul Ryan taking over as Speaker of the House, he has vowed that things would ultimately change. A Time for Change
The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution currently reads that: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and are subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside. When our founding fathers drafted ad created the document they would or could have ever foreseen the illegal immigration problems that the United States would find itself to possess. Immigration was not even addressed during that time period. This amendment was originally intended for freed slaves and their descendants after the Civil War, not those that are now entering the country illegally. There is another technically to this issue wherein the amendment states "and are subject to the jurisdiction". Illegal immigrants are in the United States illegally without recognition or approval from the government, therefore they were not subject to the United States jurisdiction. The parents' immigration status is not even taken into account at the present time. It is time for a change regarding children of illegal immigrants. The United States can not continue to operate in this manner. These children born in the United States are granted all the rights that every other citizen has. The United States needs the fourteenth amendment changed in order to better contain illegal immigration. If traveling abroad and giving birth in another country, would you expect said country to grant your child citizenship? Illegal immigration is a drain on our economy. It is time for a much needed change and update to an amendment that is now being used out of context.

Everything Has a Cost
Illegal immigrants can come to the United States and receive access to government subsidized healthcare and receive welfare whereas some of our own citizens in need are denied. They get to live in a cash society with no obligation to pay taxes. United States taxpayers are paying for these subsidies illegals are benefiting from. American citizens should be infuriated! Why not come to a country that will give you many benefits for FREE? Everyone hates a free-rider; why should illegal immigrants be any exception? Other countries are a lot more rigid when it comes to their borders and illegals. The United States is putting the illegal immigrants needs ahead of its own citizens! They are here illegally and are criminals trespassing. The United States needs to step up and step in to treat them as such. This is a slap in the face for the immigrants that came here legally that filled out the proper paperwork and took the test to become a citizen of this country. Do not grant them amnesty. Most of these illegals do not possess the same American values and traditions and will ultimately turn our country into a facsimile of the one they fled.

About BORDERS
There are many immigration issues continually being addressed, but one issue that is on the front-line is the issue of border control and security. In order to make changes within the issue of immigration you must first reveal the problem; as with this situation the problem begins with how easy it is for so many Mexicans to make their way across the southern border of the United States. The problem is not just about Mexicans escaping to find new residence, but also the issues with drugs being smuggled across the border fueling the already out of control pandemic of drug abuse we suffer on a day to day basis along with continued human trafficking. Border control is not receiving the priority that it should even though Obama has stated that he is committed to fixing this problem. Securing our borders should be a priority, not just an inconvenience and addressed at convenience! Congress can not agree on the issue and there are many differentiating opinions in the legislature on how to correct this problem. Although border crossings may have been cut, there are more than 12 million illegal immigrants in America presenting even larger issues and concerns for actual citizens for decades to come. Donald Trump raises three really important statements regarding the illegal immigrant issue. A nation without borders is not a nation. A nation without laws (enforced) is not a nation. A nation that does not serve its own citizens is not a nation. What will it ultimately take to secure our borders and preserve our nation?
"When I took office, I committed to fixing this broken immigration system. And I began by doing what I could to secure our borders. Today, we have more agents and technology deployed to secure our southern border than at any time in our history. And over the past six years, illegal border crossings have been cut by more than half."
